about

"Conceived as a kind of different Drum'n'Bass album for a couple of years, the LP entitled "We Have To Hold Apart" was born as a collection of confusing & refreshing Clicks'n'Bass tunes. Sharply cut pieces of old school drum machines and disfigured crackles of synthosaurs create a shaky uptempo 7/8th bleeps blues.
Everything is screeching on a dusty silver tray, tasty served with juicy FX. Filled up with several ambient and illbient works, this LP shows all excesses LXC never has dared to get involved in before: minimal techno, dark downbreaks, field recordings and whatnot.
Come in and never find out of this odd little world that is what D&B never was and IDM never will be. And by the way, open a new chapter of Plainaudio - Experimental!"

... so far for the official text for the first and, until now, last LXC concept long player. A new playlist, updated mastering and a found bonus track have found their way to this 2024 rerelease. A chronological order reflects the processes from reduced dry MPC & Virus works of the first five planet tracks towards the switch into the way more wet environments of the later added buzz tracker moon workouts. This collection done in the early 2000s anticipates and foresees stuff related to the likes of Microfunk, if not even parts of Autonomic and definitely shows no less than the vision of foundations to later Alpha Cutauri trancemissions. I've seen things!
