about

As we enter rough and ready territories, this is documenting the arrival of LXC as a result of years spent above MPC 2000 and Virus A, aiming for a raw and banging live performance. While well-known genres tried to outnumber themselves in stream-lined dead-ends, most of it just sounded just bold and smashed. Meanwhile LXC Live was meant to fit into warehouse Jungle raves as well as punkrock Breakcore squat parties. Not sure if this fight or flight action ever truly convinced any of both poles, but it met a good bunch of blokes along the way, who believed in its energy and pressure. Cheers to all the promoters who supported, became friends and flipped off to it in the early 2000s!

This release is basically made out of two rehearsal recordings. First half is taken off Trash Tapes 33, releasing the early LXC liveact around 2001, which was gain-staged in a pretty brutal way. It's questionable if people really took it as "hard" sound actually, but it also worked on smaller PAs, which were used quite often on Fakecore tour gigs back then. Tracks 04 Corebreaker and 07 Eko will soon be found on the LXC vinyl debut on Phantomnoise - more of these in the next episode.
The second half from track 09 onwards shows the progression into advanced versions, incorporating experiences along a lot of nights and sets out. Levels and busses weren't dark red anymore, beats were allowed to pop on big speakers, basslines became a bit more solid. Corebreaker and Eko were only featured as vamped so-called remixes. Sophisticut was new and will be one of the few that got taken off the late liveact into a final tune. An extra note goes to a weird tune called "E" with its funny 6/4th kinda sequence of photekky breaks. It surely twisted some brains back then. Maybe a link to the future with revisiting potential.

It's been an honour to fire this stuff at places like Zoro Leipzig, Köpi Berlin, Rote Flora Hamburg, Topf Squat Erfurt, MS Stubnitz Rostock, Alte Pauline Detmold or Egocity Zürich - legendary places, some may rest in pieces! No thanks to authorities and paper tigers, but save hugs to all believers and lost souls on these trips. Stay chooned for the next episode about the first LXC vinyl release and some exclusive subblements!
