What does it actually mean to dive into sound, to contemplate in pulsating air waves, to dig deep into your actually initially quite empty soul and paint audible leftovers for a world far beyond your exisdance? Take the green pill and let everything flow into the perfect moment of being between the worlds, half in what they call reality, half sucked into your very own (oh, is it?) creation. Tiny as an atom on a small blue ball drifting through space as well as spreading all over millions of galaxies experiencing a hive mind leading towards infinity (oh, there is?).
Short before the project LXC was actually born, experiments with higher consciousness led to Mandragora, which tried to break out of the tight ties that Drum'n'Bass has to offer and wanted to process a good ten years of classical training on stringed intruments into something of personal feel. Both worlds needed to break out of their respective chains - formula arrangements as well as outmoded harmonics. Let there be light!

The Frost session was recorded during rehearsals for an exciting first gig at Distillery Leipzig in 2001. Deep whale chants meet underwater jungle drums in a proper meditation session. Happy for being able to play this out at a few nights. Especially the appearances on smaller DIY open airs are warmly graved into memory. Early morning pre-sunrise tea-drinking healing vibes. Thanks to all free-thinking promoters back then, these thymes still mean a lot!
Dau, Flut and Minus 273 were made up for further live appearances in the mid 2000s and only happened a very few times in East Germoany, absolutely unreleased so far. Based on synthetic as well as organic recorded sounds, seeking for a portal between now and then, craftiness and crude forms, existence and imagination, all and nothingness...

Heartful thoughts go to all deeper companions of those times, you know who you are. Big thanks to the family to make this all happen. Not sure if the instrument was the best choice really, but it gave a certain form of guidance, no doubt. The ghost is alive and well in a sugar cube!

This is RUNLXC03. Viola, effects, recording, sampling and programming by LXC around 2001-2003. Track 1 was previously released on Minorlabel on 90min tape in 2005. Remastered by LXC at Alphacut in 2022.
